SIERRA PACIFIC DONATES TO SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

Sierra Pacific received a Bronze award from Second Harvest Food Bank for their food donations for needy families in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.  Twice a year, June and December, Sierra Pacific puts a collection barrel in the front office of the Campbell store.  Employees fill the barrel with donations of nutritional, nonperishable foods such as peanut butter, canned soups, granola bars, and fruit juices.  The barrell that is filled in June is used by Second Harvest Food Bank to feed children who have been receiving a lunch at school and are now out on summer vacation.  For many children, the meal they received at school might have been the only meal they had for the day.  With the help of Second Harvest, these children will have food to eat throughout the summer.  The barrel of food collected in December is used to supply low-income families with food for the holidays.

On an average, Second Harvest Food Bank distributes more than 28 million pounds of food annually.  We are proud to be a "Bronze" level part of that distribution.  Sierra Pacific employees not only care about the job they do every day, they also care about the less fortunate of our community.  We applaud the generous donations of our employees!

SATISFACTORY RATING

Every couple of years, the California Highway Patrol visits each of the Sierra Pacific's locations to inspect our trucking fleet.  The inspector crawls under each truck to make sure it meets the safety requirements and standards set up by the California Department of Transportation.   The inspector discusses the maintenance practices of each truck with the driver who is responsible for that truck.  The inspector also verifies the driving records of each commercial driver employed by Sierra Pacific.  We are very happy to once again receive a Satisfactory rating from the California Highway Patrol.  The satisfactory rating means that our trucks are safe and clean, and our drivers are too.  We are honored to have drivers who care for and give special attention to the details required to maintain their trucks.  We are proud to received our eighth consecutive satisfactory rating.
